My ONE Word – 2017

pursuittime

Last year I made a resolution to no longer make resolutions… haha.

My focus shift from what I wanted to achieve to listening to God throughout the year on what He wanted me to conquer. So I prayed for word. One word that God would speak into my life and keep that has the focal point throughout the year.

Last year my word was “Resilience”. It was simply to “roll with the punches” and just stay strong no matter what came our way. And by the grace of God, I was resilient, and was able to be a part of many incredible blessings because of it.

So this year as I was praying for my ONE WORD, God kept speaking me to be more aggressive. As “Resilience” is more defensive in nature, I knew God wanted to me to PUSH even more this year. And so there it was, my ONE WORD for this coming year is “PURSUE”.

I want to PURSUE God and deepen my relationship with Him
I want to PURSUE my wife more and become a better husband.
I want to PURSUE my kids, and be the Godly DAD they desperately need.
I want to PURSUE people in our community, and reach them for Jesus!
I want to PURSUE people in our church, helping them GROW and become LEADERS!

So there it is, my ONE WORD for 2017. PURSUE

What’s your ONE WORD?

Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, PURSUE righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. – 2 Timothy 2:22 NLT
